The Homecoming Saga

As you might know Jessi loves to dance. She really looks forward to all dances especially the school dances. This year she was invited to Homecoming over a month before by Alex. Two weeks later they broke up. It was sad and hard but they decided they would still go to Homecoming together. Then she was asked by Chase (Homecoming King). She was flattered but didn't want to hurt Alex's feelings so she told Chase no. Then one week later things got ugly and Jessi and Alex decided not to go to the dance. So Jessi had no date. We hoped for a week that someone who had procrastinated and didn't have a date yet would ask her. On thursday she broke down and asked a friend if he would go with her. Zak couldn't go because he had to be in Preston that day. On friday, as Jessi and Tyson were going to the Homecoming Game, Todd told Jessi he would pay her $50 if she came home with a date for the dance. He told Tyson he would pay him a $5 finders fee if he found her a date. No luck for either of them. So on saturday Todd took Jessi out for dinner, bought a bunch of chocolate (as you know chocolate cures everything) and settled down for a movie marathon. Part way through the first movie at 7:45 Zak called and said he was home from Preston and asked her if she still wanted to go to the dance. So Jessi got ready and he picked her up 15 minutes later. She had a ball! Todd was a little disgruntled because not only did he loose his date for the night but he spent $50 on dinner and missed the USU vs BYU hockey game with Chris, Tyson, Justin and Tanner. Oh well thats what dads are for right? So does he still owe her $50? Give us your vote.

Crazy USU Fans

Tyson, Tanner, Justin and Chris and went to the USU vs. BYU Hockey Game tonight. USU won of course! It was a great game. (Sorry Todd!) These pictures were all taken after so a lot of their paint had worn off! But you get the idea.

8 is Great! Brecken got Baptized today! It was a really nice day. We had a stake baptism and Brecken was 2nd. Dad baptized him. Grandpa Skinner and Chris were the witnesses. He was confirmed by Dad with Grandpa Skinner, Bro. Knowles, Steve Sorenson, Chris, and Uncle Roy were in the circle. Later we went back to our house for dinner. We enjoyed having Sherrie and family, Lezlie and Nate and girls, Robyn and Talan, Steve, Uncle Roy and Aunt Joan, Chris, Mandy, Amber and Ben, Grandma and Grandpa Skinner and Jackie and Olivia there. It was a really special day!

One Great Concert!

This was one incredible show! We were literally leaning on the stage
all night with his microphone stand an arms length away! Nikki got
spit on by him(accidentally while he was singing) Tex got a high five from the base player and I got a guitar pick that Lindsey dropped on the stage after playing one song called "Treason"

Lindsey Buckingham!

We are going to the Lindsey Buckingham concert tonight! Yeah! This is actually our third attempt to see him. A year ago last spring we got tickets to see him in SLC. Shortly after we got tickets Todd was told he would be on a TDY trip that day. We sold our tickets and Todd licked his wounds. Then a few months later he announced a concert in Boise. So we bought tickets and drove to Boise with Tex and Carrie Keen. All was well and we had a ton of fun untill . . . . . . we got to Boise. We found the event and a small sign that stated that the concert had been canceled due to an accident with the equipment truck. We found out that Boise really isn't that fun and we came home and Todd licked his wounds again. So we are trying again tonight! Pray all goes well this time! Todd has way to many scars!

Birthdays times 4!

Today we got together and celebrated Grandma, Aunt Jackie, Brecken and Uncle David's Birthdays. Our camera wasn't cooperating so we only got this picture. Hopefully Grandpa will have some more for us.

Brecken's Birthday Party!

Brecken had a soccer birthday party. It was the easiest party ever! No planning. I am thinking I really like this kind of party. We just invited the kids and they played soccer the whole time. Yeah! My kind of party!

Brecken had a great birthday. He turned the big 8! On his birthday we celebrated as a family. Todd and I took him out for Cold Stone Icecream. Then when Jessi got off work we opened presents. He is excited for his new scout shirt. Cub scouts here we come again! He also was very excited for a new bike. He and Shonee like to ride their bikes to school.

Deer Hunters Ball

Jessi, Ty and Justin went to the deer hunters ball. It was a two ward square dance. All were supposed to dress up as hunters. Jessi went as a deer!

Rhett's Farewell

We went to Rhett's farewell today. He did a great job! He is going to be an awesome missionary in Peroria, Illinois! Good Luck Rhett!

Time Out for Women

Jessi and I enjoyed Time Out for Women friday and saturday. It was really great! There were so many great speakers and the music was awesome! We are going next year too if anyone is interested.

Homecoming fun!

Jessi was asked to Homecoming tonight. The message said "Jessi it wood totally rock if you went to homecoming with me." The funny thing is she and Justin came home while they were in the process of leaving the message. They came home and found the wood and the note on the porch. They came inside and were looking at the note when two boys came sneaking up our steps with a big rock. We watched them the whole time. When they left Jessi found the name of the boy under the wood. The next day I was talking to a friend whos son helped with the whole thing. He said that the boy that asked was feeling bad that Jessi came home in the middle of it with a date! We soon realized that he thought that Justin was her date! Hopefully we got that all cleared up. She had to turn him down because she had already been asked. Hopefully he will as her again.

Just a little pick me up!

Jessi has been having a bit of a hard time lately. A week ago in school she received these flowers. It was sure nice to see that someone was thinking about her.

You Caught Me!

Ok so the last time I said I was caught up I wasn't really done. Lezlie caught me. I added pictures to the blog about Tyson's hair and to the Corn, corn etc. blog. So now I am really caught up. Well that is except for the first blog about first dam. I have to get pictures from Cheney's for that one. So now I can officially say again, I am caught up! By the way for some reason all of the new entries don't show up on my screen. I have to click on September for them to show. If you want to see them all you might have to do that.

Tyson wanted to go to an air soft war the other day. He knows he can't go without eye protection. His glasses were broken so this is what he did. Whatever Works!

Our trumpet vine bloomed a lot for the first year! We have had it for at least 6 years. Isn't it beautiful?

Caught Up!

Ok we finally got our Internet fixed! We had many problems! Our computer was very sick! We had over 400 spy ware programs causing us problems. Our friend Fred Baker fixed it for us. Hopefully we wont have anymore problems. So I am now finally up to date! I entered a lot of posts today. So if you want to see them all you will have to scroll down a lot! I know this is a lot of posts but I am using this as kind of a journal so I don't forget what we have done through the year. I hope you enjoy it.
