Canoeing at the marsh

We went canoeing for pack meeting. It was so calm and peaceful and the sunset was beautiful!

MCYC = Paint

The booths that mendon has used for the 24th of July fair have been looking pretty bad. The MCYC decided to repair and paint them. It was....well to be honest, a headache and a mess but we finished and they look pretty good!

Mendon's 24th of July Celebration

Mendon has an awesome 24th of July Celebration. We started the day with a Day Break Scramble. Justin ran the 10K. He came in 4th place in Men's under 18.

Then we went to an all you can eat pancake breakfast. Not long after Brecken ran the kids mile. He came in 2nd place in boys.

Next they had the animal chases. Laila and Ayva chased the chickens and the rabbits.

Brecken chased the chickens, rabbits and the pigs.

Next we had our parade. The youth council had their traditional float. They had over 2000 water balloons that they threw. I was lucky that by the time they got to me they were out of balloons!

Next came the Great Race. Todd and Shonee started if off dancing the Virginia Reel.

Justin was one of the watermellon eaters in the race. Tyson was supposed to be in the dunking booth but had to get a substitute because of his arm. Our team moved up and tied for 3rd place. We are usually last! After the Great Race was the hose down. It would make for some great pictures but nobody wants to risk their cameras. The fire department opens up their hoses and everyone plays in the water. It is strong enough to knock you right over! They also have a hose that is spraying foam. It is my favorite part.
Jessi left just after the hose down and went to a Secondhand Serenade Concert.

Brecken and Shonee enjoyed the inflatables. Somewhere out there in one of the inflatables is Breckens glasses. We never did find the

The day ended with an awesome fireworks display.

"I just want you to know, there were no girls involved....."

Everyone was gone for the evening but myself. I was enjoying a quiet evening when Tyson and his friends Steve and Frank came home. He walked in and said "Mom I am home early...." So I praised his efforts. Frank and Steve were acting kind of weird and I looked at Tyson. He was white. I asked what was wrong and he said he thought he broke his arm. He told me he was sitting on the back of Steve's car and jumped off and slid in the gravel and fell. I took him to the local EMT, my dad. He agreed, he thought it was broken. We headed in to the hospital. I called Todd, who was down at the park, on our way to let him know. We got to the hospital and sure enough it was broken. While waiting for his splint I noticed that his shirt was ripped and he was bleeding. I lifted his shirt and his back was covered in road rash. I then notice his head and elbow were bleeding. We got the splint on and headed for home. When I talked to Todd that night, I told him I wasn't sure we had got the true story on what happened. He said he knew it wasn't the truth and that the next time Tyson lied he should tell his friends first. He was sitting by some of Tyson's friends when I called. When he said "He broke his arm again?" Gabe and Mauricio heard. They said "it is really broken?" Of course Todd put them through the third degree to find out what happened. They said he was car surfing on the back of the car. Some of the other stories we have heard were Steve ran over him with a semi, dad beat him up, fighting off a bear, trunk surfing, and he just fell off a car. You decide what you are going to believe.

Knots in a Cherry Stem

We saw a new band at our local talent show tonight. They are called Knots in a Cherry Stem. I was extremely familiar with their songs! I hear and feel them playing everyday! We took a video and I will post it soon. They did ok. They just need a little more practice together.

High Adventure in the Uintahs

Tyson and Justin went to the Uintahs for their high adventure camp. They were hiking to King's Peak (the highest peak in Utah). They had a lot of fun, but never made it to the top. Justin suffered from altitude sickness and Tyson, being the perfect brother that he is (Tyson is coaching me on what to say), stayed behind with him. They hiked around 36 miles this week! Wow! They swam, fished, and had a great time. Neither of them took a camera so we will have to find some pictures somewhere else.

Memory Fuzzy

Sometime between the 8th and the 18th the Pontes and the Ashs left. I have forgotten dates. During this time, Shonee and Brecken went to Blanding as well. Can anyone help me out on these?

4th of July

We had a 4th of July picnic at Mom and Dad's house. Jackie and Dad left early to see if they won the car at the Cache Valley Cruise In. They called saying they won and to come watch them in the parade. We were all in car's when we found out it was a Joke. Cruel Jackie Creul! Does anyone have pictures of this day? I don't have any!

Fireworks at Jackie's

We made it back from Idaho in time for a barbeque and fireworks at Jackie's. I don't have pictures of all the kids so I will have to borrow from someone else!

Day - 6 Time to go home!

We left Tyson and Justin with the Pages and went home today. We ended our trip with a tour of the Yankee Fork museum and of course a little more gold panning.
